Animal Welfare in Tenerife with Experience, Responsibility and Compassion
Arche Noah Teneriffa e.V. is a non-profit animal welfare association that has been helping dogs and cats in need in Tenerife since 1992. Our mission is to rescue animals, provide them with medical care, find responsible new homes for them and sustainably reduce the suffering of stray animals on the island.
For more than 30 years, we have operated an animal shelter and a sanctuary in Tenerife for animals that need protection, care and a second chance. Through our association, many dogs and cats find new homes in Germany or elsewhere in Europe. Animals that cannot be adopted for health-related, age-related or other reasons are allowed to stay with us and live safely in our care until the natural end of their lives.
Our adoption process does not end with a photo on the Internet. We carefully assess whether the person, the animal and the living conditions are a good match. Before adoption, our dogs and cats receive veterinary care, all necessary vaccinations, are neutered or spayed, microchipped and provided with a valid EU pet passport. We also test them for relevant Mediterranean diseases and provide treatment whenever medical care is required. Our aim is not to find a home as quickly as possible, but to find a good and permanent home.
Another important focus of our work is protecting the stray cats of Tenerife. Through neutering campaigns, medical care and the return of healthy and stable animals to their colonies, we help reduce uncontrolled reproduction, disease and avoidable animal suffering. Every neutering prevents further suffering and improves the long-term situation of entire cat colonies.
Our work depends entirely on support. Donations, sponsorships, memberships, flight sponsorships, donations of goods and voluntary help make our animal welfare work possible. We use these resources responsibly and for their intended purpose, because every meal, every treatment, every neutering procedure and every safe adoption is only possible thanks to the trust of our supporters.
Arche Noah Teneriffa e.V. stands for practical, long-term and transparent animal welfare. We rescue animals, care for them, support them throughout the adoption process and work step by step to reduce the causes of animal suffering in Tenerife.
