Visit Our Animal Shelter

WIf you would like to visit our shelter in Tenerife, you can arrange a guided visit in advance. We do not have fixed visiting hours because caring for our dogs and cats, trips to the vet and emergencies determine the daily routine at the shelter.

We are pleased to welcome people who would like to learn about our animal welfare work in person. During a visit, we are happy to show you around our shelter, explain our work and give you an insight into how we care for our dogs and cats.

To make a visit possible, please arrange an appointment with our team in Tenerife a few days in advance. It is best to contact us at the beginning of your stay on the island. After your enquiry, we will send you a suggested appointment time and detailed directions to our Arche.

Visitors who arrive without an appointment cannot usually visit the shelter. Protecting and caring for the animals comes first. Every day, our staff and volunteers take care of feeding, animal care, cleaning, medical treatment, trips to the vet and urgent emergencies.

Please also note that we can only plan visits around ten to a maximum of 14 days in advance. This allows us to organise responsibly while remaining flexible enough to meet the needs of our animals.

Note: Due to the highly contagious panleukopenia virus at the shelter, not all cat areas will be accessible until early September. We appreciate your understanding.

    Directions to Our Shelter

    • Take the highway exit for Tenerife South Airport (TF-1).
    • Coming from Santa Cruz: Turn right (toward the mountains).
    • Coming from the south/airport: Stay left to cross the highway toward the north (mountains), then immediately turn left again. Take the first right uphill.
    • After passing the BP gas station and the Cepsa gas station,
    • turn right toward TF-645 San Isidro.
    • Take another immediate right (do not go straight!).
    • Take the first left (look for the Toledo sign).

    The shelter is located 20 meters ahead on the right side, identifiable by a large green wall!
